Berkeley Alexander has relaunched its premier mortgage payment protection insurance policy safetyFIRST, following recent research that showed that 80% of households who claimed on their MPPI did not fall behind with their mortgage repayments.

The policy now offers a 30-day excess rather than 60, and allows policyholders to protect up to 65% of the gross monthly income of all named mortgage borrowers. All claims cheques are made payable to the policyholder.
