Licensing laws in England and Wales are set to change under proposed
Government legislation, allowing 24-hour opening, seven days a week. The
new rules will end fixed closing times for licensed premises, affecting

restaurants, clubs and supermarkets. Longer opening hours will give a
much-needed boost to the leisure sector, but higher insurance premiums
will be the inevitable sting in the tail for licensed traders.
