West Midlands-based broker Cassidy Financial Consultants has launched a risk management programme designed to improve standards, reduce claims and reduce rates in the troubled taxi sector.

Cabs 2000 was launched earlier this year and has received support from a panel of five insurers, despite widespread poor sentiment towards this sector. It aims to improve the image of the taxi sector and thereby achieve a fairer insurance deal for drivers.

The initiative involves a three-part driving
