September saw many high profile acquisitions completed, proving that consolidation of the insurance broker market is not slowing down.
Newmarket-based Davis Group was acquired by Axa in September through the broker's subsidiary, Venture Preference, which purchased Smart and Cook, Stuart Alexander and Layton Blackham earlier this year. Chief executive Leigh Smart will remain at the Davis Group, which has around £40m of gross premium income.
