Up to two thirds of UK businesses experienced malicious cybercrime in
2001, according to Bill Barr, vice president of loss control services at
the Chubb Group.


Mr Barr said the average loss through cybercrime was £30,000 but that some
companies have lost more than £500,000 in one incident. Mr Barr was
commenting at the E-Crime Congress, a meeting of corporate executives,
government representatives and law enforcement officials, held in
December.
