Outdoor events insurer Weather Direct has warned that its policyholders may not be covered for the effects of foot and mouth disease.
Any event insured after the first outbreak was announced on 21 February will not be covered, as the virus was a pre-existing circumstance. Organisers who insured events before the current crisis or who have annual cover which was taken out before the 21 February are covered, however.
Weather Direct says it has paid out to the organisers of the point-to-point
