Provisional liquidators have been appointed to Independent Insurance Company, the Financial Services Authority has announced.The FSA is also understood to have launched an investigation into the company, which was valued at almost £1bn in December. Independent suspended writing new business on 14 June 2001, following discussions with the FSA.
The liquidators will pay creditors of the company in due course, to the extent that funds are available. Claims by businesses, except for claims under
