German-owned insurer, Folgate has launched its commercial division to
a group of 40 preferred brokers and is aiming to derive £30m of gross
written premium by 2004. The insurer intends to trade with a maximum of
250 commercial lines brokers by the end of the year.


The new division will be supported by regional offices in Birmingham,
Maidstone and a third that is likely to be in Hertfordshire. Initially,
there will be 12 employees across the three offices rising to a total of
45 within 18 months.

ALA expands range with pothole insurance
