Finance union UNIFI has branded 80 redundancies made byEcclesiastical as a "jobs for profit" cull.
It has condemned the insurer for its lack of consultation and for ignoring
its own agreement to consult with the union and staff as early as possible
in the event of compulsory redundancies.
UNIFI national officer Terry Keefe, said: "This is the fifth time in less
than 12 months that the company has acted in this way."
Most of the cuts are expected to be made from the firm's Gloucester head
office but
