The British Insurance Brokers' Association has called on travel insurance companies to provide cover against terrorism. BIBA says that, since 11 September 2001, the majority of travel insurers have imposed blanket terrorism exclusions on their policies. There were 655 global terrorist attacks last year compared to 175 in 2003, according to data from the US State Department.
