Smart & Cook has benefited from Halifax Bank of Scotland Commercial Insurance division's decision to outsource the majority of its broking operation to the broker.

The partnership, which takes effect from 1 January 2005, marks a shift in approach at the bank, which keeps much of its businesses processes in-house. Staff at HBOS Commercial Insurance will transfer employment to the S&C Group. The operation will continue to be based in Leeds.

It will focus on customers serviced by Bank of Scotland
