Heritage Underwriting Agency, the specialist London based Lloyd's insurer, has announced a profit for the preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2006. Gross premium income was up 82% to £110.9m and profit before tax of £10.3m (2005: loss of £4.6m). The combined ratio improved to 90% compared to 119% in 2005. Heritage also established a mid-year underwriting vehicle at Lloyd's to write additional £35m of capacity.
