Happy birthday PB

Editor Andrew Tjaardstra and industry veteran Colin Calder, former head of broker development at Axa, reflect on 15 years of broking and PB's part in it

PB started in May 1994 when new life and pensions regulations meant that many brokers started to separate themselves from the IFA side to concentrate on general insurance at a time when a new generation of broker-owners was coming to the fore. By partnering with broker-oriented insurers such as Guardian in the early years, PB was able to provide editorial coverage and advertising space in exchange for broker databases to give the magazine a strong circulation from the beginning.
