The merger of CGU and Norwich Union will see the CGU name disappear from both the general and the life markets in the UK.
The company formed out of the merger of the two composites will be listed as CGNU, but will trade under the Norwich Union name and brand in both the personal and commercial lines markets.
CGNU is set to become the largest insurance operation in the UK, and as a group will have a market capitalisation of £19bn. The merger is expected to generate at least £250m in annualised
