The new professional indemnity arrangements for solicitors could
force some reputable practices out of business.


Steve Roberts chief executive of Zurich Professional told PB that some
"sound" firms practicing in high-risk areas of law may not meet insurers'
underwriting criteria and will find it impossible to get cover on the open
market. He said: "A firm heavily into conveyancing will be considered
particularly high-risk, as will firms who deal with lots of
litigation."
