Following the acquisitions of brokers Home and Legacy and Premierline last year, Andrew Torrance, chief executive of Allianz Insurance, has said he is looking at buying in the personal distribution space. One of Torrance's priorities is to enlarge its private motor book, and he is keen to control more of its distribution base. Torrance unveiled a record year for the insurer, which was helped by benign weather and releasing money from its reserves, and claimed that "many insurers' combined
