A campaign to prevent the UK insurance industry being swamped by rigid legislation from Brussels got under way at the European-Commission-affiliated Committee of European Securities Regulators forum in Paris recently.
Concern in the UK prompted the campaign, which is attempting to secure greater flexibility through a waivers regime for EU directives in light of the Financial Services Action Plan, which contains 42 directives affecting all financial services firms.
