Specialist protection provider Swiss Life has closed to newindividual business and is currently evaluating its group business
account. The company estimates 200 jobs will be lost as a result of
closing its individual business book and has only guaranteed its group
business until mid-August.
Swiss Life Group announced in September 2002 that Swiss Life (UK) is no
longer part of its core business. Negotiations to sell the business as a
whole have so far been unsuccessful.
