UK companies bought 19% lower limits of cover for general and product liability in early 2003, according to a study of 1000 European companies conducted by Marsh. Limits of Liability Europe 2003 compared average liability limits sold in 2002 and 2003. It concluded that while European firms bought less liability protection this year, the average cost of cover rose by 82%.
