While regulation moves apace in the UK, at least 13 countries in the European Union have yet to implement the EU Insurance Mediation Directive - with many years away from doing so - despite this year's 14 January deadline. Each country has been sent formal notices, the first stage of infringement, by the EU, requesting parliamentary timetables for the introduction of the directive.

A spokesperson for Internal Markets and Services at the European Commission lists Belgium, Germany, France, Italy
