Leeds-based broker The Bartlett Group has acquired local competitors
Fred Sugden and Sugden Rogers.


The names Fred Sugden and Sugden Rogers will be retained and the
businesses will continue to operate from separate offices for the
foreseeable future.


The Sugden businesses have 25 employees and were established by Fred
Sugden in 1907. They expanded through acquiring several businesses in
Leeds and Bradford, including WM Wooller, thought to have been Yorkshire's
first insurance broker.
