The proposed simplification of insurance premiums put forward by the Law Commission in July 2007 has endured a mixed reception, with the British Insurance Brokers' Association admitting it was concerned.
In an effort to restore consumer confidence, the proposal makes it easier for consumers to successfully claim through their insurance, even if they were later found to have neglected to provide information which is largely irrelevant to the claim.
