Brokers are not liable to pay back commission earned on cancelled Independent Insurance commercial policies, according to the British Insurance Brokers' Association and Class Law.BIBA sent a report to provisional liquidator Price waterhouseCoopers on 9 November, defending brokers' rights to keep the commission. The report bases its argument on case law and tradition, and was approved by a working party of brokers. BIBA expects a response by the end of November.
