According to the latest Professional Broking Sentiment Survey (see p25), 15% of brokers will be acquiring in the first quarter of 2007. Last year was a record-breaking one for sheer numbers of acquisitions but this may well be topped in 2007. Some large consolidators have ambitious targets. As interest rates remain low, money is still cheap to borrow and consolidators such as Oval and Cullum Capital Ventures alone have access to well over £150m.
