Lichfield-based Police Mutual, a provider of financial services to the police, has acquired Liverpool-based Roland Smith Insurance Brokers. Roland Smith has a long-standing relationship with National Association of Retired Police Officers and around £20m of gross premium income and 80,000 insurance policies.

Nigel Smith, managing director of Roland Smith, and his team will continue to manage the business alongside Police Mutual chief executive, Graham Berville, who has been made chairman. Roland
