The passengers and crew of the cruise ship Explorer are awaiting the result of an inquiry to discover why the Liberian-registered ship hit ice and sank in the Antartic Ocean.

Explorer was 13 days into a 19-day trip on 24 November when it hit a "significant" piece of ice. All 91 passengers and 63 members of crew and staff were rescued.
