The Insurance Masters 2009

This year's Insurance Master's golf tournament, sponsored by software house Open GI and hosted by PB alongside sister title Insurance Age, was held at the Wiltshire-based Manor House Golf Club on 7 July in both rain and sunshine.

The individual winner was David Christmas - manager at Endsleigh business insurance - with Paul Garrett - claims manager at Endsleigh - a close second behind his colleague. Mark Wooldridge - sales director at Home & Legacy - shot the longest drive, with Danny Imray - director at DNA Insurance - driving closest to the pin. Altogether, 16 teams competed, among them Fresh!, John Russell, ISIS, DAS, Hiscox, Bankstone, Group Direct and Pavey Group, with associate sponsor Moore Stephens, the accountant and consultant, winning the team trophy.

Simon Hughes, sales and marketing director at Open GI, said: "The Insurance Masters has gained real momentum in the three years it has been running to become one of the key golf events in the insurance calendar. As overall sponsor, we always get a great deal of value out of the event but, more importantly, it's our brokers and key business partners that benefit because they are able to network with like-minded individuals in an informal setting. I would certainly recommend that people put the date in their diaries for next year. The feedback we receive is always extremely positive."
