MGA Arkel promotes Matthew Birney to MD
Specialist multi-line managing general agent Arkel has promoted Matthew Birney to managing director with immediate effect.
Birney, pictured, joined the Atec Group as pricing director in 2022.
With more than 10 years’ experience in personal lines, specialising in pricing and underwriting transformation for non-standard household and motor risks, he previously held leadership roles at Prestige Underwriting, Geo Underwriting, Midas Underwriting, and XS Direct.
Kris Lee will continue as chief underwriting officer, working closely with Birney to further strengthen underwriting performance, Arkel added.
