Sompo picks Luxembourg for post-Brexit base
Insurer flags uncertainty over the terms of the final agreement for UK leaving EU.
Sompo International will establish a new European insurance headquarters based in Luxembourg.
The new entity, SI Insurance (Europe), will also write reinsurance business.
The property and casualty insurer and reinsurer highlighted that significant uncertainty remains over the terms of the final agreement for the UK to leave the European Union (EU), in particular the potential loss of EU passporting rights.
According to the insurer the new Luxembourg base will provide a solution for clients in
