FCA kicked off financial year with improved authorisation service bar one outlier

tick

The Financial Conduct Authority has upped its game on authorisation service levels in categories affecting brokers, with improvements in four areas, but one notable outlier where the performance dipped.

The regulator has a target of processing 95% of variation of permission cases within four months for a complete application, or 10 months for an incomplete one.

However, newly released data has shown in the first quarter of the 2026/27 financial year it only delivered an 83.3% rate for insurance firms.

This was a deterioration on the 93.2% seen in the prior quarter and left the service far from the green zone.

All other areas, however, showed improvement in the April to June period.
