Blog: PIB is living rent free in peoples’ heads
The insurance industry can’t keep a potential PIB sale out of their mouths – and when they’re not talking about it, they’re thinking about it.
Rumours of PIB selling up have been swirling since speculation in March 2024 surrounded its backers Carlyle and Apax wanting to cash in on their investments.
Rumours that solidified when Gallagher emerged as the preferred bidder, only for both sides to fail to find an agreement – with differences over price understood to be a major sticking point.
Since then PIB has been keeping a relatively low profile, although last week the group announced the expansion of its portfolio MGA company Acquinex
