Ageas’ Claire Green on why listening, innovation and partnership matter more than ever
As director of distribution at Ageas, Claire Green works closely with brokers across the UK, giving her a front-row seat to the opportunities, challenges and evolving trends shaping the industry. Ahead of Broker Expo 2026, she shares what she’s most looking forward to at this year’s event and why listening to brokers remains more important than ever.
Broker Expo is always a highlight of the insurance calendar, and I’m looking forward to joining our Broker Connect Team on the Ageas stand to connect with brokers, share insights and, most importantly, listen to the conversations that matter most.
Why Broker Expo is so valuable
Bringing the market together in one place, Broker Expo gives brokers the opportunity to step away from day-to-day priorities, exchange ideas and have meaningful conversations about the future of the industry.
For us, it is also an invaluable opportunity to hear directly from brokers about the challenges, opportunities and ambitions shaping their businesses.
Those conversations help inform how we evolve, where we invest and how we continue to support broker success. Whether discussions focus on growth opportunities, customer expectations or operational challenges, the insights we gain are invaluable.
Turning market change into opportunity
The event comes at a time when brokers are adapting to the rapidly changing world around them. I expect topics such as artificial intelligence, data, productivity and customer experience to feature prominently in daily conversations.
While these topics could be viewed as challenges, they also present major opportunities. The real advantage lies not simply in adopting new technologies, but in using them to improve customer outcomes, increase efficiency and unlock future growth.
At Ageas, we’re continuing to invest in technology, data and analytics to strengthen decision-making, enhance trading experiences and make it easier for brokers to do business with us.
However, technology alone isn’t enough. The greatest value comes when innovation is combined with broker expertise and strong insurer-broker relationships. The businesses best positioned for long-term success will be those that balance digital capability with the trusted advice and personal service that remain at the heart of insurance.
Powerful partnerships
Our broker partners are central to everything we do, which is why we were incredibly proud to be recognised as both Personal Lines Insurer of the Year and Broker Partner of the Year at the British Insurance Awards.
For me, those awards reflect the strength of the partnerships we’ve built across the market and our commitment to helping brokers succeed.
Events like Broker Expo play an important role in maintaining and strengthening those relationships. While technology and innovation continue to transform our industry, there is still no substitute for face-to-face conversations, shared insight and taking the time to understand what matters most to our broker partners.
Looking ahead
When I look ahead to 2027, I remain excited about the future of the broker market.
My optimism comes from the resilience, adaptability and entrepreneurial spirit I see across the sector every day. It’s reinforced by the opportunities being created through smarter use of technology, stronger data capabilities and closer collaboration across the market.
The industry will continue to evolve, but the foundations of success remain unchanged: listening, building trusted relationships and working together to meet customers’ changing needs.
The Broker Expo theme of “one day out of the office could create real opportunities” captures this perfectly. The value of the event isn’t just the conversations that happen on the day itself, but the ideas, relationships and actions that attendees take back to their businesses afterwards.
So, if you’re attending Broker Expo, we’d love to welcome you to the Ageas stand. Whether you’re an old friend of Ageas or we’re meeting for the first time, come and meet our Broker Connect Team, catch up on what’s happening in the market, and talk to us about what’s on your mind.
Because while the market will continue to change, long-term success will always be built on listening, collaboration and powerful partnerships, underpinned by a shared commitment to being Brilliant Together.
