Axa adds to real estate and landlord offerings

Sarah Mallaby

Axa Insurance UK has added equipment breakdown to its commercial real estate proposition, giving customers the option to cover plant and machinery as part of their buildings insurance.

The new cover is provided on a blanket basis for all premises owned by the company, and can include a wide variety of equipment – from boilers and air conditioning systems to forklift trucks and wind turbines.

The insurer confirmed customers are covered for damage caused by a failure from within the building itself and limits are available from £25,000 up to £10m.

It noted the standard limit of cover per incident is £250,000.
