Hedda Båverud Olsson, CEO and co-founder of Swedish pet insurance broker Lassie, on how the firm’s launch in the UK has been its best yet and how it will stand out in a competitive market.
Could you explain the history of Lassie and why you founded it?My mum’s a vet, so that was what originally inspired me to create Lassie. I had previously worked in insurance. I’d been working for a couple of years, first at McKinsey and then on the investment side at EQT Partners.
I grew up first-hand learning how you can prevent injuries and keep pets healthy.
We really wanted to create a pet insurance that was not only reactive but also could be your daily companion and help avoid injuries.
