Aviva is ending the £250m turnover and £250,000 premium limits for UK firms in its regional offices as it targets more growth with brokers in larger mid-market business, Insurance Age can reveal.

The changes are part of the launch of Aviva Premier, a new proposition designed for larger mid-market clients with broader, more complex insurance needs.

Previously, businesses above the metrics (premium spend being measured across a firm’s insurance portfolio) were handled by Aviva Global Corporate & Specialty. The shift will bring around 40 staff into the commercial team run by Michael Yabantu, managing director of mid-market at Aviva.
