QBE names global data centre lead

Jamie Thompson has been promoted to the newly created global director of data centres role at QBE, following over 20 years at the firm.

Most recently he held the director of financial lines position and previously served as director for QBE Canada.

He will bring expertise from underwriting, risk engineering, claims and distribution, to deliver a global proposition for data centres around the world

Ageas UK GWP jumps as Esure deal flows in

Ageas has posted a 72% hike in gross written premiums in the UK to €1.42bn (£1.21bn) for the first half of the year as the takeovers of Esure and Saga’s underwriter Acromas Insurance Company continued to kick in.
