JMG strikes 20th deal

JMG Group has bought commercial and corporate broker Insure Business in its 20th acquisition since being formed just over two and half years ago.

Insure Business will join the JM Glendinning North East business, part of the JMG Group, in Newcastle.

It will be rebranded to JM Glendinning, but managing director Kate Allison and account handler Daniel Wilds are staying with the firm.

The team will work with Kate to take away the noise, leaving Kate and her team to focus on winning and retaining clients. Nick Houghton

FCA proposes 1.4% fee rise for broker block

The Financial Conduct Authority is consulting on raising levies from brokers by 1.4% in 2026/27 – double its annual budget increase – as it also laid out its work programme going into the second year of its five-year strategy.

Aviva to open US commercial lines branch in New York

Aviva is setting up an onshore surplus lines business in the US, based in New York City, with a target of starting to trade in the second quarter of this year in a move it claimed will strengthen its proposition for brokers and clients.
