Burns & Wilcox grows in UK

Managing general agent Burns & Wilcox has hired Jeffrey Hobson and Martino D’Aliesio as part of its UK expansion plans.

Hobson joins as northern regional director and will be based in Manchester office. He brings over 30 years of industry experience in underwriting and broking to the post including at AIG, Willis and, most recently, Chubb.

ABI records 3% home premiums rise in Q1

Average home insurance premiums for buildings and contents cover rose by 3% to £375 in the first quarter of this year, pushing the year-on-year rise up to 19%, according to the Association of British Insurers.
