MCE’s document reveals £10m dispute with HMRC
Tax issue flagged as being based upon an employee benefit trust.
MCE Insurance has confirmed a dispute with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) over an employee benefit trust in its financial results for the year ended 31 May 2016.
According to the document, during the year and in previous years, the company had paid funds in relation to an employee benefit trust.
The broker stated: "During the year HMRC have issued advanced payment notices to the company for unpaid taxes due in relation to the employee benefit trust totalling £10,222,740."
It added that on the basis
