5) Madison Dearborn Partners becomes second largest Towergate shareholder
US private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners (MDP) has now completed the first stage of its investment in Towergate picking up 17.9% of voting rights and becoming the second largest shareholder.

Under the original announcement MDP used Tango Investments to bid for Towergate's holding companies Sentry Holdings and TIG Topco.

Brokers upbeat on 2024 growth – Aviva

Brokers are more optimistic about growth in the coming year than they have been since before 2020, according to Aviva, with 83% expecting their business to grow compared to 76% last year.
