Zurich to target growth in emerging markets

Insurer said previous strategy was about stability.

Zurich Insurance Group is turning its attention to growth after a period of ensuring stability and is optimistic about the opportunities in world and emerging markets.

Michael Kerner and David Smith, the global and UK CEOs of general insurance respectively, set out the outlook for the company as it heads into 2015.

Kerner said Zurich's 2014 to 2016 strategy involves "three pillars" and the first of those is to invest in businesses where it has a distinct position.
