Underwriting boss could not confirm no more than 50 roles are to go.

Towergate is to reduce roles at its Romford, Stokesley and Telford operations.

The job cuts, announced yesterday as part of the consolidator’s plans to expand the Fusion brand across its bespoke underwriting arm, will impact “many and varied roles”.

Clive Nathan, CEO underwriting at Towergate, added: “It depends where people are working and what they are working on.”

And when asked whether 50 was the maximum number of jobs to be affected, Nathan stated: “You can never say never to these things.”
