ABI calls on Environment Secretary to include band H in Flood Re

Trade body writes to Owen Paterson setting out its position.

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) is writing to the Environment Secretary Owen Paterson to set out its views on upcoming amendments to flood insurance legislation.

The ABI said it would “make clear that the industry is not opposed to enabling people in band H homes to be covered by Flood Re when it is up and running”.

The trade body will also highlight the fact that the winter floods demonstrated that flooding can affect people regardless of their council tax band, adding “it is true
