Market moves: Revolving doors

The revolving Market moves doors were busy spinning last month as brokers and insurers welcomed their fair share of new arrivals. Both Arthur J Gallagher and Zurich took the opportunity to make a string of appointments north of the border. Gallagher bolstered its Scotland retail business with a swathe of new recruits while Zurich revealed a new insurance team to work alongside its Scottish brokers. It was just the tip of an active month for the insurer as it assumed a lead role amid a number of comings and goings (see box-out). Meanwhile, Aviva confirmed that it had opted to replace its departing chief financial officer Pat Regan with Blackstone boss Tom Stoddard. And, as ever, broker move regulars Bluefin, Lockton and Marsh, supported by the likes of Allianz, Covéa and QBE, ensured that Gallagher and Zurich didn’t hog all the column inches.

 Starting with brokers and Arthur J Gallagher looked to enhance its Scotland retail business with a string of arrivals. In Glasgow the consolidator snapped up Douglas McEwan from GS Group as account executive. He was joined by former RSA man Graeme Campbell, Bluefin’s Gemma Grady and UK General’s Kat Morrow as account executives.
