AJ Gallagher cites "tremendous quarter" for acquisitions

Broker expects Giles deal will generate $140m [£87.4m] in annual revenue.

AJ Gallagher hailed its acquisition programme as having a "tremendous quarter" as it confirmed that the deal to buy Giles should be wrapped up by early November.

It came as the company posted a profit of $74.6m [£46.5m] for the third quarter, up on the $61.7 recorded for the same period last year.

For the nine-month period ended 30 September Gallagher made a profit of $208.6m, an increase on the $161.5m during the same time last year.

The broker said that the additions of Giles and US broker
