Former RSA supremo Haste in Co-op insurance arm bid

Former RSA chief executive Andy Haste is reportedly leading a bid to buy the insurance arm of the Co-op group.

Sky News claimed that Haste - who left RSA in 2011 - is fronting a private equity offer from Advent International to take control of the operation. 

Advent invested £200m in Towergate in 2011 for a reputed 25% stake.

Haste is currently the deputy chairman of the Lloyd's of London reinsurance market. And it was reported that Haste is also understood to be working with Advent with regards to securing a stake in Hastings.
