Swinton apologises to customers after £7.4m FCA fine

Swinton Group has offered an unreserved apology to its customers, following the news that it has been fined £7.4m by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

The broker said that it “acknowledges the shortcomings in its sales practices” during the period between April 2010 and April 2012.

It continued: “Chief executive Christophe Bardet was appointed in December 2011 and instigated a full review of the business.

“Swinton notified these problems to the Financial Services Authority in March 2012. Since then, Swinton has co-operated fully with the FCA."

Aviva doubling down for customers, says Martin
