Aviva brands Newcastle cash-for-crash sentences "disappointing"
Aviva has labelled the suspended sentences handed out to a group of cash-for-crash fraudsters "disappointing".
The party of 13 walked free from Newcastle Crown Court despite having staged a stag party minibus crash to claim £134,000 for "whiplash injuries".
After being sentenced, one of the offenders, Richard Oliver, 25, was photographed grinning outside court while brandishing a wad of money.
Aviva investigated the injury claims and reported the incident to police.
