RWA warns of broker negligence push
RWA Group has urged brokers to be "vigilant" after learning that an insurer has been pushing a client to "pursue a claim for negligence" against a broker.
The compliance firm understands that an insurer turned down a claim before proceeding to directly "interrogate" the client as to what questions were asked by the broker.
In blog post, RWA stated that the insurer had been "actively telling the said client where in their opinion, the broker had gone wrong".
The firm also reported that the insurer had insisted on copies of the call recordings to be handed over in a bid to identify the questions the brokers should have asked.
