Russell Scanlan buys Henson & Company

The Council House in Nottingham city centre

Russell Scanlan and associate company Russell Ulyatt have bought East Midlands-based Henson & Company.

Russell Scanlan has taken over the firm's personal, commercial and general insurance lines, while financial advisers Russell Ulyatt have taken over the life, pension and investment arm of Henson & Company.

It follows the retirement of Henson & Company's managing director Colin Henson who decided to sell the business.

According to Russell Scanlan, the bid was accepted "on the basis the firm would be passed on intact and the interests of clients protected".
